Good governance at the Regional Level in the area of Regional Development in Slovakia

Carpathian Development Institute developed and from 1.7.2007 till 31.4.2010 was implementing project focused on the improvement of quality of the regional-level governance. The project goal is the improvement of the governance quality for higher territorial units (VUC/HTU) of Slovakia within the area of regional development, mainly in the sphere of the process management in both internal and external environment.

This is the first inovation process of its kind in Slovakia at the regional public administration self-government level.

The project has been financed by Norwegian Financial Mechanism and co-financed by the Slovak national government budget. It was carried out in cooperation with the Executive Committee of Northern Norway and the Nitra and Presov self-governing regions.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are regional self-governments in the whole Slovakia, but the results of the project will be beneficial also for all subjects interested in the given field.
